THE MUSEU CASTELLER OFFERS 2X1 TICKETS IN A SPECIAL DEAL FOR THE GREAT CALÇOTADA FESTIVAL OF VALLS

The Museu Casteller will celebrate the Great Calçotada Festival of Valls on Sunday, January 26th, one of Catalonia’s most popular and largest gastronomic celebrations. The Museum is ready to offer visitors the chance to enjoy the strength and popularity of castells and calçots in one single day—two symbols that make Valls a cultural reference point as the Km0 of castells and a gastronomic capital as the birthplace of the Calçotada.

Together with the organization of the Great Calçotada Festival, the Museu Casteller de Catalunya will once again offer 2×1 tickets, a special deal that allows visitors to get two tickets for the price of one with all Calçotada tasting packages distributed during the event. This offer will be included in all tasting packages of the festival, and the tickets will be valid to visit the Museum until September 1st.

The Calçotada Festival tasting package includes, in addition to tickets to the Museu Casteller, a serving of 12 grilled IGP Calçot de Valls calçots, a 375 ml bottle of Castell d’Or cava, a jar of Salsa Calçotada by Salses Fruits, a serving of Cristallino bread by Europastry, a bottle of water, an orange, artisanal carquinyolis from Cal Cesc Bakery, and a commemorative bib. Get your Calçotada Festival tasting package with 2×1 tickets to the Museu Casteller.

In addition, the Museu Casteller will host a guided tour on Saturday, January 25th, at 11 am, for those who wish to experience the values highlighted by the poet Josep Anselm Clavé about the Casteller World. Reservations are required at info@museucasteller.cat or by phone at 977 660 030, where information on available rates can also be provided.

Furthermore, opening hours will be extended throughout the weekend to accommodate the large number of visitors coming to Valls for the Great Calçotada Festival. Specifically, on Saturday, January 25th, and Sunday, January 26th, the Museu Casteller will remain open non-stop from 10 am to 6 pm. Moreover, the Museu Casteller will also participate in the award ceremonies of the various competitions organized for the Great Festival, giving a free ticket for two people to all winners.

The Great Calçotada Festival is Catalonia’s largest gastronomic celebration—a festive, popular, and promotional day centered around the calçot, filling the streets and squares of Valls with a unique and vibrant atmosphere. The day will feature a varied program of traditional and festive activities, including competitions related to calçots and the Calçotada: parades, demonstrations of grilling calçots, contests for calçot growers, calçotada sauce-making competitions, and calçot-eating contests. At the Valls Agricultural Cooperative parking lot, from 11 am to 2:30 pm, visitors can pick up their Calçotada tasting packs. A dedicated area with tables will be set up for enjoying the Calçotada, along with grills for cooking meat. Starting at 2 pm, there will be live music performances by Miquel del Roig and El Artriste.

The Museu Casteller – Museu Casteller de Catalunya opened its doors in 2023, powered by the Valls City Council, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Tarragona, and the Coordinadora de Colles Castelleres de Catalunya. The project has created a unique and innovative museum and experience center in the heart of Valls’ Historic Center, near the iconic Plaça del Blat, the Km0 of casteller culture. At the new Museu Casteller, visitors can feel and live the emotions of castells while discovering the values and traditions surrounding casteller culture—a unique tradition with more than two centuries of history and recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
